このブログは、これから薬剤師を目指す学生の皆さん、そして薬剤師として現場に立ったばかりの皆さんを主な対象としています。
This blog is primarily aimed at students aspiring to become pharmacists, and those who have just started working as pharmacists in the field.
私は現在、病院薬剤師として日々患者さんと向き合っていますが、その前には製薬メーカーでMR（医薬情報担当者）として医療現場の最前線を駆け回っていました。このブログの目的は、MR経験者である私だからこそ伝えられる「薬の立体的な知識」と「現場で本当に役立つ視点」を皆さんにお届けすることです。
Currently, I work as a hospital pharmacist, engaging with patients daily. Before this, I was an MR (Medical Representative) at a pharmaceutical company, actively working on the front lines of healthcare. The goal of this blog is to share with you a “three-dimensional understanding of medicine” and “truly useful perspectives for the field,” insights that only I, as an experienced MR, can offer.
学校で学んだ知識はもちろん大切ですが、いざ現場に出てみると、「あれ？教科書とちょっと違うな…」と感じることや、新たな疑問に直面することも多いはずです。教科書や参考書には載っていない、でも現場で役立つ情報や、これからの薬剤師に求められるスキルについて、皆さんの日々の学習や業務に役立つヒントを提供していきたいと考えています。
While the knowledge you gain in school is undoubtedly important, once you step into the real world, you’ll likely find things that differ from textbooks or encounter new questions. I hope to provide tips that will be useful for your daily studies and work, covering information not found in textbooks but practical in the field, as well as the skills required for future pharmacists.
座学と実務の「点と線」をつなぐ
Connecting the “Dots and Lines” of Classroom Learning and Practical Work
皆さんは今、薬学の専門知識を熱心に学んでいることと思います。
I believe you are all currently studying specialized pharmaceutical knowledge diligently.
私も学生時代、多くの授業で薬の作用機序や副作用、薬物動態などを学びました。
During my student days, I also learned about drug mechanisms of action, side effects, and pharmacokinetics in many classes.
そして、実際に病院薬剤師として働き始めて実感したのは、授業で習った一つひとつの知識が、目の前の患者さんの治療や日々の業務と、いかに深く結びついているかということでした。
What I realized after starting work as a hospital pharmacist is how deeply each piece of knowledge learned in class is connected to the treatment of patients right in front of me and to daily tasks.
例えば、ある疾患の薬理作用を理解しているからこそ、患者さんの症状変化に気づき、適切なアセスメントができます。
For example, it’s precisely because you understand the pharmacological action of a certain disease that you can notice changes in a patient’s symptoms and make an appropriate assessment.
薬物動態学の知識があるからこそ、腎機能が低下した患者さんへの投与量調整や、高齢者への薬の選択に自信を持って関われます。
Possessing knowledge of pharmacokinetics allows you to confidently participate in dose adjustments for patients with impaired renal function, or in the selection of medications for elderly patients.
学生時代に学んだ「点」が、現場で「線」となってつながっていく感覚は、薬剤師としての大きな喜びの一つです。
The feeling that the “dots” learned during student days connect to form “lines” in the field is one of the great joys of being a pharmacist.
このブログでは、そうした座学で得た知識が、実際の医療現場でどのように活かされるのかを、私の経験を交えながら具体的に解説していきます。
In this blog, I will explain specifically how the knowledge gained through classroom learning is applied in real clinical settings, incorporating my own experiences.
皆さんが学ぶことの一つひとつが、将来の患者さんの笑顔につながっていることを実感してもらえれば幸いです。

なぜ、MRを経験した病院薬剤師の話が「ためになる」のか？
Why is the perspective of a hospital pharmacist with MR experience “useful”?
MRの仕事は、自社の薬を医療従事者に「知ってもらう」こと。
The job of an MR is to make healthcare professionals “aware” of their company’s drugs.
その過程で私たちは、薬が開発される背景から、医療現場での使われ方、そして医師が薬を選ぶ際の視点まで、「薬」という存在を多角的に見てきました。
In that process, we’ve viewed “medicine” from multiple angles, from the background of drug development, to how drugs are used in clinical settings, and even the perspectives doctors consider when choosing medications.
例えば、 For example:
- 新薬開発の舞台裏: なぜその薬が作られたのか、どんな患者さんを救うために誕生したのか。開発者の想いや、その薬の「強み」と「弱み」を理解することで、薬への深い洞察力が身につきます。
- Behind the Scenes of New Drug Development: Why was that drug created? What kind of patients was it born to save? Understanding the developers’ intentions and the drug’s “strengths” and “weaknesses” cultivates deep insight into medicine.
- 添付文書の「行間」を読む: 添付文書は薬の「取扱説明書」ですが、その記載の裏にある臨床データや、現場でのリアルな使われ方を知ることで、より患者さんに寄り添った情報提供が可能になります。
- Reading Between the Lines of Package Inserts: While the package insert is the “instruction manual” for a drug, knowing the clinical data behind its descriptions and how it’s genuinely used in the field enables more patient-centered information provision.
- 多職種とのコミュニケーションの真髄: MRは、医師や看護師、そして私たち薬剤師と日々密に連携を取ります。彼らが薬に何を求め、どんな情報が欲しいのかを知ることは、皆さんがチーム医療の中でスムーズに連携し、患者さんにとって最善の医療を提供するために非常に役立つでしょう。
- The Essence of Interprofessional Communication: MRs collaborate closely with doctors, nurses, and us pharmacists daily. Understanding what they seek from medications and what information they need will be extremely useful for you to smoothly cooperate within team-based healthcare and provide the best possible care for patients.
私のMR経験は、皆さんが「薬剤師」として薬と向き合う上で、きっと**「立体的な視点」**を与えてくれるはずです。
My MR experience will surely provide you with a “three-dimensional perspective” when you approach medicine as a pharmacist.
薬をただの「モノ」としてではなく、**「患者さんの生活を支えるもの」**として、より深く理解するための手助けができると信じています。
I believe I can help you understand medicine not merely as a “thing,” but as “something that supports patients’ lives,” in a much deeper way.
これからの薬剤師に求められること
What is Required of Future Pharmacists
これからの時代、薬剤師に求められるのは、単に薬の知識を持っているだけではありません。
In the coming era, pharmacists will be required to possess more than just knowledge of medicine.
その知識を、個々の患者さんの病態や生活背景に合わせてどのように活かし、最適な治療へとつなげていくか。
They must know how to apply that knowledge to each patient’s condition and life background, leading to optimal treatment.
そして、病院や薬局の運営、ひいては地域全体の医療にどのように貢献していくか。 そうした力が、ますます問われていくでしょう。
Furthermore, their ability to contribute to the operation of hospitals and pharmacies, and even to the overall healthcare of the community, will increasingly be questioned.
薬学の知識を土台としつつ、患者さんや他の医療従事者とのコミュニケーション能力、適切な情報を引き出し伝えるプレゼンテーション能力、そして問題解決のための考える力が重要になります。
Building upon a foundation of pharmaceutical knowledge, communication skills with patients and other healthcare professionals, the ability to extract and convey appropriate information through presentations, and critical thinking for problem-solving will become crucial.
私が得意とする「人に嫌な印象を与えないような、誰とでも上手くやれるコミュニケーション」や「人との関わりの中でうまく業務を進めること」は、まさにこれからの薬剤師に不可欠なスキルだと感じています。
My strengths in “communicating effectively with anyone without leaving a negative impression” and “skillfully facilitating tasks through human interaction” are, in my opinion, precisely the indispensable skills for future pharmacists.
このブログでは、そうした**「これからの薬剤師像」**を見据え、皆さんが現場で活躍するための実践的なヒントを、私の経験を通して発信していきます。
In this blog, with an eye toward this “future image of pharmacists,” I will share practical tips based on my experiences to help you succeed in the field.
